Survey Infographics — K.A.P.O.K. Jamaica
See what we measure, then add your voice
K.A.P.O.K. tracks 9 survey themes across Jamaica's communities. Each one explains what we measure and why it matters, then links to the survey you can answer for your 1 km² zone.
1. People — Who lives here, and who is not being heard?
Strong communities start with people. Mapping who lives in each zone — and whose voice is being left out — helps us plan services where they are needed most and build a fairer Jamaica where every person counts.
2. Core Infrastructure — Do the core systems work — water, power, roads, waste?
Strong systems make better lives. We track whether people can access clean water, whether power is reliable, whether roads let people move safely, and whether waste is managed properly — the everyday systems that hold a community together.
3. Access & Movement — Can people and goods connect and move?
Connected communities are stronger together. We look at whether people can stay connected, whether public transport lets them move reliably, and whether trade routes let goods flow — because good access means greater opportunity for everyone.
4. Stability — Can people get help when it matters most?
Safe communities build stronger futures. We measure whether people can access health care quickly, how fast emergency response arrives, and whether people feel safe — the protection and support that matter most when things go wrong.
5. Resilience — Are we ready for storms and floods?
Prepared today, strong tomorrow. We look at whether safe hurricane shelter is available and whether homes are at flood risk — so communities can overcome extreme weather and recover stronger every time.
6. Education & Growth — Can everyone learn and grow?
Knowledge today, leaders tomorrow. We track whether children can access primary school, whether teens can continue learning, whether youth programs exist, and whether digital learning is within reach — investing in minds and brighter futures.
7. Livelihood & Trade — Can people earn, trade, and build locally?
Local strength means shared prosperity. We look at whether jobs and markets are accessible and whether building materials are available and affordable — so people can support local, build local, and grow together.
8. Governance & Coordination — Are decisions and coordination working?
Good governance means clear roles and stronger results. We map community priorities, infrastructure damage, local leadership, and aid activity — so communities can listen, plan, and act together with accountability.
9. Future State — Is the area ready for a sustainable future?
Planning today protects tomorrow. We look at development readiness, water sovereignty, energy resilience, and environmental stewardship — building a sustainable Jamaica for generations to come.
